THE NAME

The name Viète.

François Viète was a French mathematician — the father of modern algebraic notation, and the man who cracked an “unbreakable” Spanish cipher, letting France read the secret messages of Spanish generals and turn around a long war. So impossible did it seem that Spain complained to the Pope that France must be using black magic.

We took the name in his honor. Because the problem of finding and aligning talent has always looked like a cipher — confusing, impossible, a matter of luck. It is not. The variables can be named and controlled. The code can be cracked.

That is what we do. Talent, decoded.
